On Sunday, May 19, Mendham’s Troop 1 held a Court of Honor to recognize the scouts’ achievements to date in 2024. Seven scouts advanced to new ranks, and scouts completed 34 merit badges and 14 skills requirements badges. Scouts were also recognized for completing service projects at Schiff Nature Preserve and Grace Lutheran Church. Scouts gave a presentation on trips completed this year, including our annual ski trip, our scuba trip, a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Advancement Camping at Schiff, and a trip to the Statue of Liberty. It was our honor to recognize two scouts, Bret Kiefer and TJ Shaw, as they graduate from Mendham High School and begin college next year. They each shared personal stories about how impactful their Troop 1 Boy Scout experience had been in making them who they are today. These two Eagle Scouts will surely be missed by their friends in Troop 1!
